Music, Arts and Technology Camp

Camp Dates: July 28- August 1, 2008

About the program Music, Arts and Technology Campoffers a series of continuing daily arts related classes for students, teachers, and community members of all ages and ability levels. A wide variety of classes include entry level, how-to classes such as beginning violin, up through advanced level classes such as Symphony Orchestra and Opera. Subjects include music, theater, dance, art, technology, and more. Over 100 classes are held each day. There are 7 periods a day (that continue daily), with an average of 15 different class choices per hour, totaling 500 sessions for the week for students ranging from babies through adults. 250 or more students and community members participate in the program.

Over 30 student music groups perform in a total of six concerts at the end of the program week for the Evanston community, with an audience of approximately 400-500. In addition, Camp staff members present a professional concert during the week for camp participants and the community.

The Camp staff consists of 31 professional teachers/performers from all around the US. The Camp program is approved by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board, thus local teachers can take classes and qualify for workshop credit to apply towards re-certification. Camp also includes fun activities in the evenings that allow the teaching staff, camp participants, and the community to bond. Student tuition is kept low and financial aid is available, so no one is excluded because of inability to pay.

The Camp has been highly successful for the past decade, offering the widest variety of classes in the arts, while still offering very specialized courses for those seriously pursuing a music education. The Camp draws students from out of the region. A lodging/meal plan is offered through the camp in conjunction with local hotels. jump to top
